The Village Barn

Avatar: Nadia Nadesan Nadia Nadesan

An open place for everyone

The village barn is to become an open place for lively village life. A place to chat and do, to spin ideas and try them out, to get to know and discuss, to play and be creative, to celebrate and learn from each other - and to work together.

It should be a village barn for everyone: for the young, the old and the young at heart, for long-time residents and newcomers, for the village, the community and guests. It is to be created in the “small barn” at the entrance of the old manor - in the middle of Prädikow and easily accessible for everyone.

COMMUNITY AND BUSINESS

The village barn should not only be a community space, but also a place to work. The topic of working on site is particularly important for those who move from the city to the farm and do not want to commute to Berlin every day. In addition, a place with so many social and cultural offerings produces running costs that somehow need to be covered. A part of these costs should be brought in through various gastronomic offers as well as seminar and office table rentals, so that collective offers can remain cheap or even free of charge. We would also like to test in the village barn whether and how well the principle of “coworking”, i.e. collaborative digital work, works in the village. We want to find out how it is compatible with social and cultural community offerings, what opportunities and challenges it brings with it. More about this under the pointland.digital .
